Re: Lanzini
Like I said to my lad prior to the game on Saturday, Lanzini likes to operate in the areas Payet did and now he will have more licence to get into them, create and score goals.

He played far too deep looking for the ball when Payet was in the side and didnt get involved enough higher up the pitch.

This guy will flourish now. Loved his celebration, showed how much he does actually love playing for us. Worth the yellow (stupid rule!!)

Re: Lanzini
Hollocks, that's bollocks. Andy Carroll's goal was better in every way and thats not decrying Lanzini's goal which was good but it was a sprint past a non-existent, demoralised defence in a game already won, the execution was excellent mind you and don't get me wrong I think he is an excellent, excellent player for us but....

....Carroll's goal is one of the main reason most of us go to football to see something extraordinary. What made him take off like that and get that much power into a shot whilst in mid air only he knows, all I know is that it was fucking awesome and if Sanchez, Ibrahimovic, Aguero or anyone else in the top six had scored that we would never hear the fucking end of it.

I still don't care how or why he did it but for once this season the football did not ruin a perfectly bloody good day out and I left the stadium as I used to do at times in the old days with a great big smile on my face. Thank you very much Mr Carroll, oh and Mr Antonio for 3 assists as well

Like sir Alf has said , he could be as good as coutinho

Always wind my plastic Scouse mates, that lanzini will be better.

Like others have said, I think he will push on now that payet has left.

As good as Carroll's? Er no.

Re: Lanzini
More of a team player than Payet - on and off the field. His goal yesterday was as good as Carrolls but in a different way. Tremendous skill. If Feghouli can keep to his task could be a good wide player based on yesterdays performance.

Re: Lanzini
There's a good article from Oliver Holt in the Daily Mail.
I tend to agree with him, though there are a few points he is not 100% correct on.
For me, I am more sad that the dream of Payet and West Ham challenging the top 4 is now over. The top 7 is more realistic with the current board. They were and the people employed to make the stadium move a smooth one not good enough. We were also more focused on winning the last home game against Manu than winning against Swansea which had we won a CL place was there for the taking and the ridiculous resting off Payet in the last game wouldn't thave happended.

Re: Lanzini
Like Antonio he is being asked to play different roles at different times. I think he's adapting brilliantly, but I also think it would help him if the coach just decided where he was going to play and let him have a settled run in that role.

Re: Lanzini
The only problem now is that he is the main man as in skill wise. Antonio is out on his own in effort but i think he is happy about having that on his shoulders.

Justhope the crowd don't expect the same from him as Payet.

I think the person that will really shine now is Feghouli. I feeel that he will have been spoken to by Slav and i think he will step up to the plate.

None of us a weel ago would be happy that Payet was no longer our player and it is bollocks saying we would. HOwever i do not think it is as bad as it could be.

I think Slav has handled it very well. I can't believe that Payet has acted this way TBH.

Sir Alf,

Agree with that. He does remind me of Coutinho a lot. We should build the midfield around him, imo.

Re: Lanzini
Now Payet is dead, he is our most talented player by a long way. As everyone has said, this could be the making of him, he was outstanding for parts of last season, has started this one poor, but yesterday he was looking like the player we know he can be.

Become our main man, SON.

Loved his celebration as well, getting involved with the crowd. 23 years old, got the lot, 5 years off his peak potentially. Genuinely would be more gutted to lose him than the fat judas cunt.

Proper little player. I think he'd be a greater loss long term.

Re: Lanzini
Sure it was written Payet played second fiddle while at previous clubs and pushed on when he was the number one boy.
Hopefully Lanzini will take on that mindset, though we don't want the same I won't play outcome.
